Wheatgrass & Pets

Christy, We have wheatgrassed all weekend. We have been giving a couple of dropper fulls to our cat Almetra. She is about 15 years old and has terrible allergies. We have tried just about everything natural and an antibiotic. We started giving her 2 droppers full last Wednesday and within two days there was a major difference in her energy and her sneezing. She usually sneezes every hour and in two days after giving her the wheatgrass juice she only sneezed a couple of times a day. Today, which is her 6th day of wheatgrass, I can pet her and massage her without her crying. Her physical body is getting stronger and she is more alive. She usually would stay in one place all day and not move. Now she moves around everywhere, its like where is she, she's moving! We are so grateful and she is too.

About the Shakti Mat™

For thousands of years, Indian mystics used the bed of nails to achieve a balance between body and mind as it helped remove emotional, physical and mental blockages. We’ve taken this ancient healing concept and combined it with Swedish innovation to offer you an easy and practical way to reduce stress, achieve deep relaxation and renew your overall health and wellbeing.

How It Works

Laying on the Shakti Mat’s regularly for 20 to 40 minutes at a time encourages your body to release endorphins. This stimulates the release of oxytocin - the feel-good hormone. As a result, your body relaxes and releases stress, which promotes restful sleep and reduces back and neck pain.
Sounds so simple. Yet Western medicine is just now coming to understand that activation of the body’s pressure points (acupressure) not only increases the blood’s ability to absorb nutrients and oxygen, it also facilitates the removal of harmful metabolic by-products that build up in the circulatory system. By stimulating the blood flow, additional neuropeptides flood the nervous system, creating a sense of increased relaxation that promotes healing.

Thieves Essential Oil Blend
(1 Vote)
                             Thieves Blend Essential Oil

Thieves is a blend of the essential oils of clove, cinnamon, lemon, rosemary and eucalyptus. The blend is based on a recipe developed by a group of spice merchants in 15th-century Marseilles, France, who turned to thieving when trade was shut down due to a plague. They protected their health as they robbed the dead, sick, and dying by applying a combination of herbs, spices, and essential oils to their clothing and skin - a recipe which has since been unearthed in the British archives and used in the present day.

Thieves blend has been clinically tested and proven to be more than 99% effective against airborne bacteria (study conducted at Weber State University, 1997). It has been used to treat everything from candida and bacterial infections to toxic mold to colds and flu. I often take a drop and rub it into my hands after I use a public restroom. I even use it to wash fruit: to eliminate parasites on organic fruit, and remove toxic pesticides and other chemicals from “conventionally” grown produce that has been sprayed.

Because essential oils are made of light molecules, they are easily absorbed by the respiratory system and can be highly effective in treating sinus and respiratory disorders. You can slather Thieves on your throat and chest to treat a cold, or on the bottoms of your feet (where the oils are absorbed via reflexology points) to keep well, and boost my immunity all winter long.

Diffusing Thieves essential oil blend is a safe and simple way to protect your home and work environment.

Topical Application:

  • Put directly on the soles of your feet for protection from colds and flu.
  • Apply undiluted to the toes and feet to combat fungus.
  • Dilute with V-6 or a good carrier oil and apply to cuts or open wounds to prevent infection and promote healing.

Around The House:

  • Add 4 - 5 drops in your dishwater or dishwasher to thoroughly clean dishes and eliminate bacteria and odor.
  • Drop 4 - 5 drops onto a dryer sheet to freshen laundry.
  • Dilute in a spray bottle and spritz inside trash cans to eliminate orders and kill bacteria.
  • Mix with water in a spray bottle to repel insects on your flowers and plants.
  • Use to dissolve the gummy adhesive on price labels.
  • Put a few drops in your carpet steamer/cleaner to disinfect the carpet.
  • Apply a drop of Thieves onto toothbrush to sanitize.

    The Dirty Secrets of Soap

What do you know about your soap and other products that come in contact with your skin? Most of us don’t often think about the skin being the largest organ of the body or its integral role in our immune system.

If you find some of the following ingredients in the products you currently use on your skin, do your homework, then balance the risks and benefits. Some of the issues build over time and the risks multiply with repeated use. Goodness Sake offers much gentler and more natural alternatives.

    Foods That Fuel Your Chakras

When you think about your chakra system you probably aren't considering the types of foods that you consume. Because our chakras are energy vortexes and invisible to most of us one might well imagine that chakras would thrive on energy, prayer, or other such spiritual stuff... you know, those things that we can't see with the human eye. However, the chakras cannot sustain our human body without our help. It is very important to feed and nourish the flesh in order to help support and fuel our chakras. Whenever one or more of your chakras is misaligned you might do well to look and see if you are not eating or possibly overeating the foods that fuel that particular chakra. Check out the foods under each of the seven primary chakras listed here to help you determine how your current diet might be deficient or over-indulgent. We can do our part to bring balance to our charkas by eating a balanced diet.

    What Are Essential Oils?
    (1 Vote)
Essential oils are the highly concentrated, volatile, aromatic essences of plants. Scientists agree that essential oils may perform more than one function in living plants. In some cases they seem to be a part of the plant's immune system. In other cases they may simply be end-products of metabolism. Essential oils contain hundreds of organic constituents, including hormones, vitamins and other natural elements that work on many levels. They are 75 to 100 times more concentrated than the oils in dried herbs.

    What is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is a way to improve the quality of life on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. Aromatherapy is already a part of our lives, although we may not have associated the name with the experience. Everyone has emotional responses, both pleasant and unpleasant, to certain scents. The idea behind aromatherapy is, first, to find the scents, unique for each individual, that evoke positive sensory feelings and emotions; and then to introduce those scents into our everyday life to enhance well-being. Natural scents keep us connected to the earth sparking memories and emotions.

    Yerba Mate Prep Tips

My favorite & to me the easiest way to make Yerba Mate is to put a couple scoops in a coffee pot & brew like coffee. I often add a couple leaves of dried Stevia too. Then you can drink it hot or on ice. - Christy

I prepare my mate in my espresso machine. A couple of teaspoons in the puck, then I have a couple of ounces of nice strong mate, to which I add warm milk and honey. Keeps me going all day!

I add a scoop of Stevia leaf to two scoops of mate', and brew in a 12-cup coffee maker. It sweetens naturally, with a host of other benefits to boot.
