What is Yerba Mate?
Yerba Mate is the name for the tree Ilex Paraguarensis and the infusion that is made from its dried leaves. Yerba Mate is the national drink of Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay where it is cultivated and consumed by millions. Mate is loaded with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and has been used throughout the ages to boost immunity, stimulate the mind, aid in digestion, control appetite and increase energy levels. The indigenous tribes of South America referred to yerba mate as the "drink of the gods".
